Digital Content Creator/Writer (U.S.)

 Hours: Full-time position (30-40 hours/week)

Salary: TBD based on experience, education, and location (*self-raised support)

Direct Report: Aaron Cronen - Director of Operations

Position Overview:

The Digital Content Creator will play a key role in creating and delivering engaging and inspiring content across our digital channels. Ensuring our digital presence supports and enhances our Mission (to Evangelize, Empower, Educate, and Equip Uganda’s most vulnerable children) and delivers our messages effectively. This role requires someone who is creative and can identify, create, manage and deliver digital content using a range of techniques, across channels including websites, social media and live in-person events. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who is passionate about digital communication and producing tangible results. Some experience is preferred but we are willing to provide training to the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Blogs: Write original and creative blogs that emphasize the Mission of AICM and inspire donors to give.

  • Social Channels: Create original and creative posts for Facebook and Instagram that keep donors informed about the ministry.

  • Newsletter: Create weekly e-newsletters that inform and engage our newsletter audience.

  • Graphic Design: Create visually striking graphics for websites, advertising, and events.

  • Video Creation: Edit videos for website, social channels, YouTube, and events.

  • Contribute to the larger communication strategy of AICM.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Grant Writing Specialist (U.S.)

 Hours: Part-time to Full-time position (20-40 hours/week)

Position Overview:

Agape International Children Ministries, Inc. is seeking a part-time to full-time (20-40 hours per week) highly knowledgeable Grant Writer. This is an immediate opening for a grant writer with a can-do attitude and superior writing skills. Candidates must have experience in documented successful grant writing and impeccable references. Primary responsibilities include researching grant-making organizations and analyzing them to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs. Duties will include the preparation of letters of intent, grant proposals, public funding applications, and grant reports. Must be a self-starter with the ability to anticipate needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, and be able to build relationships with donors, staff, and the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching grant-making organizations and analyzing them to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs

  • Preparation of letters of intent, grant proposals, public funding applications, and grant reports

  • Develop/Maintain effective, long-term working relationships with grantors through stewardship activities to facilitate the grants process.

  • Compile, write, and edit all grant applications exhibiting strong expository writing skills and a high-level command of grammar and spelling.

  • Review the budget of a project or program for which funding is sought and make recommendations to the client on how to better present it to grant-making organizations.

  • Develop individual grant proposals in accordance with each grant-making organization's preferences and follow exactly each grant-making organization's guidelines.

  • Keep in contact with grant-making organizations during their review of a submitted grant application in order to be able to supply additional supportive material.

  • Manage the process of supplying progress reports when required by a grant-making organization that has funded a project or program.

  • Responsible for administration and completion of all required post-award reporting, compliance and evaluation as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, and be able to build relationships with donors, staff and the Board of Directors

  • An accomplished writer, proficient at directing and managing a competitive grant application

  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage several projects concurrently, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
